i still enjoy playing konquest, but i do relate with that particular vent. i HATE how the game plays in that department, if you fail to nail the milisecond timing exactly that it takes to block a more difficult opponent, then you're SOL. same if they block you, instead of having immediate recovery and a chance to back off and try again, like we all had the chance to do in the previous mk games (mostly the 2d ones, i cant recall if there was this problem in mkda) if you get blocked in mkd, your character stands there for like this 1 to 1.5 seconds of lag, where regardless of what you press, he remains immobile. That was my biggest hinderance in first fighting the dragon king. If i got blocked, then i had no choice but to take a blow, whether i tried to dodge or block or not.
