Wondering what would be the future of video-games in the next three years, precisely, on 2014? Well, Warner Bros gave us a taste of what’s yet to come as it reveals on its PR statement that they will be using Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 for games like Batman: Arkham City and NetherRealms Mortal Kombat remake.

So what does this mean? Well, it means in the next 2-3 years of our gaming life, we won’t be seeing any Unreal Engine 4. Hence, everyone should be expecting UE3 will be pumped out and be updated several times to feature out another level of graphics technology in the gaming industry.

Most importantly, this news hinted out the possibility of Mortal Kombat 10 and the next sequel for Batman: Arkham City to arrive utilizing Unreal Engine as well. You see, when you look at the fine graphic-details of MK9 and Arkham city today, you’ll certainly be blown away with its texture and the elements composing its environment. Knowing that there’s a whole new level of experience going to be infused with this already-great creation, sends us a massive jolt in our bodies!

For those who are wondering, UE3 has just been revealed by Epic last week at the GDC 2011 event, and it also marked the beginning of new UE3-powered MMO games in the future.

Anyway, three years is still far, but we sure are delighted to hear this news. How about you?

Yeah, you're missing the fact that they're not even thinking about MK10 since MK9 isn't even 2 weeks old.
