Shao Kahn in story mode impossible

I know I'm there too. I dunno if its just cuz I dunno how to use him but he seems crappy compared to the rest. This is so hard its driving me nuts

I thought I was the only one going crazy with this also, in Chapter 17.

I'm going to try to perfect a few short 4-hit combos with Raiden, in ladder mode.
Once I've perfected those 4-hit combos, I'm going to attemp the Shao Kahn battle, for the 13th time. :(
 
you HAVE to teleport uppercut spam everytime he performs a move. its the only way to beat him
 
It's not really impossible, just extremely extremely hard. Made in part by the fact that yes, Raiden seems to be a pretty craptacular fighter compared to the rest of the characters you play as. His combos are slow and limited, his specials are weak and ineffectual and even his x-ray seems underpowered.

Also, Kahn fights as cheap and dirty as he did in MK2/3 spamming his most powerful moves over and over and over and over and over again until you are dead, making a fun and dynamic fight impossible. In order to beat him you have to resort to the same cheap BS methods. Kahn seems pretty vulnerable to kicks. Jump kick and kick-combo him and just spam whatever keeps him off balance until you win.
 
Shao Kahn is really easy. Just stand a full screen away and shoot projectiles at him every time he boasts. Then keep moving back. Rinse and repeat.
 
I say it is impossible to beat him the first time you fight him, but the ai will eventually get easier after you lose to him so many times. So yes it is impossible to beat him the first time IMO, and is the same way on expert in arcade latter. The only reason I could beat him was because after awhile the ai wasn't doing what it did the first time and I was spamming the teleport as well.
 
its easy, all ou have to do is do his <- + a, x, y dash x, x, b <- -> a combo and your set. whenever he throws something just teleport and do it. if all else fails wussy out and g to options and turn story mode difficulty down
 
Go far from him and when he throws you a spear or a hammer teleport and kick him. You can quick kick him with Back+X or make a better but slower kick with Front+X (PS3)
 
It took me awhile, but it was harder with Liu Kang.

The thing you must do is wait for him to throw his hammer or swing, then you teleport behind him and uppercut.
 
With Liu Kang i had an easier time, all i had to do was spam fireball in his legs. With Raiden just wait till he taunt/attack and teleport behind him. Either do an uppercut or -->, <--, A took me a while but i beat him.
 
I've beaten him twice with Liu Kang in the story, but the story scene freezes on me. Kahn's cheapness frustrates me to the point that I just stopped playing. Didn't think I'd ever put down the controller of my own accord with this game.
 
i needed to take a break from it just now cuz i was ready to throw my controller.. seriously this guy is so cheap and constantly cheats.. like u hit him and he turns yellow and it doesnt count.. like he doesnt block it or anything i clearly sweeped him and it just didnt phase him.. this is the worst boss ever.. cant even win one round.. i tried to spam him with teleport but as soon as i teleport and kick him once hes already turned around and whacks me.. this sucks..
 
Kahn was a pain in the ass both times. Especially with Liu, since he absolutely sucks. With Raiden I just spammed his teleport.
 
with liu he was wayyy easier.. i finally beat his ass. took forever and a lot of luck but i finally did it.. god that was brutal.. never seena boss cheat so much...
