Remember Mortal Kombat Conquest?

All of your complaints are what made the series great!

a) The series was in a time where most of MK's characters weren't even born yet. So new faces kept it fresh.
b) This added shock value. The Great Kung Lao being beaten? In the finale? Pretty nice.
Even though I loved him
c) You have GOT to be kidding me. That is what made the series amazing!

What you said.

how did freaking Siro and Taja make the series great? I'd much rather have mk characters, not two nobodies. idk about the timeline but still, I liked the overall outcome of the series but those two were still nobodies and not worthy fighters. and as for c) , if you are not sarcastic about this then idk what to tell you really :p that kind of sexuality in series that are supposed to be somewhat dark like mk or vampire related ones or whatever the hell else, is usually lame beyond redemption and MKC was no exception

I refuse to discuss this with you.
Your opinions are all out of whack.

Siro was GENIUS.
He was the comic relief.

Every single episode:

Kung Lao: Oh no! There are bad guys!

Siro: I will take them!

*Siro gets ass kicked*

Taja was meh.

And those were the only MK characters alive in the timeline.
Nobody else.
No Sonya, no Jax, Kabal or anyone.

And I was not sarcastic.

Whenever Sung was in an episode, you were in for a treat.

I agree. It was funny to see siro get his ass kicked lol.

Plus that last pic. Oh so good =)

I know I am resurrecting some post but I just watched MK Conquest and I want to give my opinion since I also watched MK Legacy and I have always been a fan of MK. Both series have good and bads IMO.

MK Conquest

The Good

Raiden is really sarcastic, even more that he was in the first movie which was awesome with Christopher Lambert.

The ninjas Reptile, Sub-Zero and especially Scorpion who is my all time favorite have awesome costumes and their personnality and moves are as I believe they should be even if the special effects weren't that good.

Shang Tsung's actor and combat style is mostly perfect. I really liked the actor from the movie but this guy is the real thing. His old version really made me think of MK 1 on SNES and he's just awesome at all.

Shao Kahn is the incarnation of evil. Even if I don't like the dreamy part when they make us seen dragons and demons in his mind or I don't know what... Besides that, he really is into the character and his style is pretty much as it should be.

Quan Chi : Well I could put him into the bad section for his powers not being well displayed and not enough use of his morphing skills but so are Shang Tsung"s and as the special effects were bad, I guess they were limited in their options. Still the actor was pretty good and his costume was awesome too. I just think he never used enough his skill to raise the deads to do his will.

The ending : As much as I always thought of a predictable ending since the 3 heroes always survived through everything and they were never injured enough to be unnable to fight for a long time... I really enjoyed Shao Kahn's win since I really was more into his character than the heroes who are mostly nobodies and Kung Lao was not up to the legacy of his character.

The Bad

The main characters : Siro and Taja are mostly nobodies. Whatever they were in a comic or not, I don't know and I don't care. They never were in a MK game and most of the time, their acting skills and dialogue was most of the time awful. Their fighting skills were terrible, no special abilities and I was mad everytime before the episode could start they were saying they would be part of a fight to save the world... I was like if they succeed, there is something wrong with the script. As for Kung Lao... he doesn't even wear his hat and his clothes choice is awful... Just take a look for 5 seconds at the Kung Lao in MK Legacy and thats way more how he should be.

Kitana and Mileena : Poor acting choice, poor personnality, nearly a shadow of what you see in the video games. The interesting part about them is most likely their fighting skills, their feud and especially... Kitana is simply supposed to be a stunning beauty which is not the case in this serie. And as Mileena... She is supposed to be the same besides her teeth and she just vanished after being punished by Shao Kahn and she was not even a Clone, she just got changed into her skin. Bad story on this.

Noob Saibot, Smoke, Rain : Noob Saibot is just a guardian who get killed without a coming back... Bad story here. Smoke is just barely seen and we never knew what happened between him and Sub-Zero, terrible move. As for Rain, I was suprised to see him kick Kung Lao's ass as much as I wondered... If he's that good, why can't he fight in the tournament? As for the biggest question about him... Why does he have to shake his head that much when he fights?

The special effects and the fights : The special effects are terrible, most of the time you just feel they did copy past with a part from a comic serie but I guess it couldn't be helped since it is old and prolly they had not much money for this. The fights were just lasting too long, I mean how many kicks does it take to make someone feel bad. Sometimes, someone get one shot and you're like that's it? And some other times someone just seem as he couldn't die.

The storyline had goods and bads, it would be long to enter this subject in details but I will only say that I wasn't sure all along if I should keep watching or drop it but the characters mentionned in the good made me keep it up and I enjoyed the end as I said before.

The worst part of all is the nobodies: So many of them and most especially in the main characters. I did not enjoy any of them. I was intrigued by the part with Sung Hi Lee but her slutty fighting outfit was a turn off to me. I know most of the guyz are having a boner by watching 2 girls together but I don't really care about that and I found it of no use. As for the baron, Jen, Kreeya, Vorpex and all this bullshit, I was really annoyed and bored. I know it seems hard to keep MK alive with a new story but I prefer to stay classic instead of going for something out of interest at all.

As for the sexual part that some of you mentionned : I always thought there would be a place for sex since MK are mature games and every girl in it was sexy but I don't see any interest in slutty nobodies. I could have enjoyed a good scene between a sexy Sonya and Cage, Jade, Kitana with Lyu Kang, Syndel with Shao Kahn or even a bad guy forcing his way with some girl known or not but I really don't enjoy sluts who open legs for anybody for no purpose as it was suggested in this serie and we couldn't even get to watch it. What's the point of talking about sex if we don't get to it. What's the point of mostly showing the boobs and ass of a girl if you don't plan to show them totally. It's like porn being censored, as I was shocked there wasn't that much of finishing moves in this serie and mostly no blood. They even cut the scene when someone dies. MK is a bloody game, I think it's normal to expect a mature movie based on a mature game you played.

MK Legacy

The Good

Awesome special effects and finishing moves, especially the one from scorpion I totally gasped at this. As for the fights, I really enjoyed watching them.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero : I think their costumes were not as they should be but the storyline between them is epic even if they just keep showing the past scenes too much. I just didn't see that much of the point making them being from japan and speaking the language in the first season when they just spoke english in the 2nd.

Jax : They really took the good guy for him period.

Kenshi: Even tho we didn't see him in a good story imo (I really wasn't into Ermac who is really not as he was in the game), he was a good display of what he was in the game.

Johnny Cage : I didn't like the guy in the first season but the guy in the second was awesome imo. (Casper Van Dien) He had the right attitude and his acting skills were good.

Liu Kang: They really took the right guy for it. They went deep in his personnallity and having a dark Liu Kang instead of the savior of the world is kinda refreshing. His anger side when he's fighting is just awesome. They didn't bring back the bruce lee high pitched yells but I don't really care about that.

Cyrax and Sektor : The special effects when they are mutilating them and building them are just crazy. Their fighting combination and style is awesome and they just look so real I couldn't believe, almost the best part to me if I wasn't that much into scorpion.

They did bring back the old Shang Tsung from the movie in season 2!!! : What else to say, he was just that good.

The Bad

As a start... WAYYYYY WAYYYYYYYYYY too short episodes. And as if it wasn't enough... they take WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much of that short time to show AGAIN what happened before.

Rayden : That is just terrible... I mean... CMON he is the god of thunder but he totally failed at choosing his spawning spot and crashed in an asylum and couldn't defend himself against nobodies and he even got strangely brain washed all for being saved by the ugly girl playing in the "revolution" serie? And even worst... He stole his hat from an old man and he doesn't seem able to shave his beard!

Shang Tsung : They really seemed to have a very hard time to pick the right guy for him since they changed the guy so many times that they made us believe he was just changing corpse.... I mean... What the hell seriously. And he never did anything good so far... I just hope to see better of him if they finally make a 3rd serie.

Shao Kahn : I saw him and I was like who the is this guy? Terrible choice, not even wearing his skull mask, not in a brutal shape. There is just nothing good about him.

Kitana and Mileena : Their outfits and fights were good but why they had to put the whole story in a comic book like, you know, Kill Bill style. We are not watching a comic book... They didn't even pick the same girl for them even tho Mileena is supposed to be a clone with Tarkatan blood. Still, Kitana is at least more cute than in conquest but she still is far away from Talisa Soto in the movie.

Kano : Still he has the right attitude and the plot leads him to be a really good come back from the game but what about the actor... They took a guy who sounds british and is not even in a big shape. Kano is a pussy but he is still a cold blooded bad ass killer and I just did not feel this guy into it.

Sonya Blade : They really picked an ugly and annoying girl for her. The usless slow motion when she broke free and they kept showing it back over and over makes it feel like "Hey girls! This serie can be good for you too!" Look I know Sonya is a strong woman and I loved her character but she is supposed to be the stunning blonde chick from this thing. She is far away from Bridgette Wilson in the movie.

Striker : Well, there is nothing that could be made really about this guy. I always thought he was the worst mistake in the game where guns had no place in mystical martial arts fights. I couldn't say that much he is a bad point of this serie... He is just a bad point at all. I don't want him to succeed anything, I just wish for him to be a quick victim since he is just a good swat guy, nothing amazing about him.

Conclusion: I hope you liked my review and for my part, I really wish there will be a 3rd season anytime soon since there are rumors about it. I just hope they keep up the good work and make up for the flaws. By the way, sorry for my English, it is not my first language :)

Shao Kahn : I saw him and I was like who the is this guy? Terrible choice, not even wearing his skull mask, not in a brutal shape. There is just nothing good about him.

Absolutely disagree. Conquest Kahn is the best portrayal of the character, hands down. It shows why Shao Kahn is in charge in the first place. It isn't because of his muscles, it's because of his mind. Conquest Shao Kahn always had an ace in his pocket, and didn't let blind rage fool him like it does in the games. In the end he took revenge on everybody who crossed him in a single glorious sweep. His costume was great too. It made him look more psychotic. Which most dictators tend to be.

MK9 Kahn was just a barbarian with a prestigious title.

Best episode was when Quan Chi and Shang Tsung tricked eachother by shape shifting and their fight scene tha mirrored Star Wars episode 1 fight scene between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul at the end of the movie, Quan Chi being Darth Maul.

He was talking about MK: Legacy Kahn in that quote dude, not Conquest Kahn.

Yes I was talking about the MK Legacy, if you read correctly, I clearly separated both titles.
