Custom Sub Zero figure

Hey guys... I thought you guys might enjoy seeing a custom 1/6 scale figure I am working on. I have a thread started on a 1/6 scale site that has all of my progress to date, along with all of my progress... if anyone is interested I can post the link. For those unfamiliar, this is a 12" figure.

My plan is to make a Sub Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile (basically a palette swap) and then an Ermac from MK:D, and possibly a Jade Klassic. Hope you enjoy!

Attached you will see my most recent update images. I plan on finishing him this weekend, and I will update with final images! I still need to do the shinguards, as well as the boots. I have been using the Klassic renders as my inspiration.

Thanks for viewing,

Twik

Wow. I will definitely be standing by for your other figures. This Sub-Zero one looks amazing even though it isn't finished!

That's pretty sweet! Great job! I'll be interested in seeing the finished product and any others you might do, too. BTW, if you don't mind my asking, who's the figure underneath the mask? Or is it custom, too?

Jinko - Thanks! It has been a fun process... and making my fav. character of my childhood has been SUPER cool. It is a shame that these aren't mass produced... I think they would be popular among MK fans.

Raiden's Boomstick - It is a Hot Toy's Royce body, with an Advanced Hot Toys True Type head sculpt.

one thing I would change though would be to redisign the outlining of the muscles in the legs, make it more buff to say the least, cause the legs just don't match the definition of the upper body, or you couls go MK1 style with Baggy Pants

jbell - Thanks! Much appreciated

mkgod - Great minds think alike! I have more muscular legs (quads) that I will be putting on him. They are more like little "sleeves" that right over top of the legs.

Great effort mate. These would be worth a bit to collectors if you think about it.

Limited produced MK figurines go from $75 to $200 on ebay, your's is one of a kind.

Blackice - Thanks man! That is interesting, I have never really noticed any "good" figures for sale. I know Infinite Concepts made some way back when (I own a LK, SZ, and Scorpion) but honestly, even those aren't too great. I may think about making a few and selling them as complete figures. Really though, these figures are expensive. The body alone on this Sub Zero $80ish.

Agreed

I would love to do a stop-motion with that. Email me dude! I would buy that or borrow it and make one just for you guys.

Please refrain from double posting in the future in accordance to the TRMK Forum Rules.

Thank you, Jinko, TRMK Staff.

frikkin' amazing job, you really nailed the look of the Klassic skin for MK 2011, this blows away any mass produced MK figure of SZ, it even blows the MK KE bookends! great work man, please post pics of scorp and Rep as you go, very impressive!

Thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone! Much appreciated!

Okay, here it is! I added the thigh muscles, and finished of the other pieces. I did mess up one of the shinguards (his left leg... really I didn't mess up, I just tried 2 different ways of making them and liked the other one better... it was quicker and bends around the shin better). I am not totally happy with the shoes either, but they will do.

What do you guys think? If the weather is nice tomorrow, maybe I will get out my good camera and do some fun shots!

Next step, I am going to start from scratch and make a Scorpion. This will give me a better gauge of time involved, so I can throw out a price for anyone that is interested. There are a lot of people interested in these figures on some of the 1/6 forums, so I will be making a small run of these. This next week is going to be crazy at work, so I am not sure how much I will be able to get done... I'll keep everyone posted. I am also showing the Scorpion spear I am intending to use... just as a little teaser.
