If you want to post spoilers, they now go into the new MK9 Spoiler Sub-Forum!

http://www.trmk.org/forums/forumdisplay.php/56-Mortal-Kombat-(2011)-Spoilers

If caught posting spoilers threads in other sections YOU WILL BE PUNISHED after your first warning!

If you want to post a spoiler in the non-spoiler thread you MUST USE THE SPOILER TAG like below

Code:
[PLAIN]
[spoiler=Describe Spoiler Contents Without Spoilers]
All Your Spoiler Text Goes Here
[/spoiler]
[/PLAIN]

Which ends up looking like this in the thread:

Spoiler:

All Your Spoiler Text Goes Here

Update! I made the spoiler tag even easier to use just doesn't give the user an idea of what the spoiler contents are.

Code:
[PLAIN]
[spoiler]
All Your Spoiler Text Goes Here
[/spoiler]
[/PLAIN]

Which ends up looking like this in the thread:

Spoiler:

All Your Spoiler Text Goes Here

Be sure to use the Report a Post function if you see spoilers, so we can clean up and inform the user about it.

Awesome idea, and I like how youre putting your foot down against idiots who jump on different threads meant for spoiling certain things and then spoil something completely unrelated.

Dammit Jim! I can't read half this forum now lol. I'm staying well away from most of the spoiler stuff. Now my wait is even harder lol.

Excellent initative Pat, it was becoming hard to browse the forum without seeing spoilers here and there.

Well, that's one more board us mods have to look at, but on the bright side, we can always redirect thread to the proper place now with little consequence.

I have a question though, what if someone posts a spoiler in a spoiler thread that has nothing to do with the thread title, for example, spoiling something story related in the end game reward thread. It would be unfair to some people who just want to see stuff related to end game but then have story mode spoiled for them.

Then report it!

Yeah but Pat you said it yourself that you dont need to put the spoiler tags in spoiler threads that are in the spoiler sub-forum. What I am trying to say is that even if a spoiler thread with a certain topic is in that sub forum, but someone posts a spoiler that is unrelated to that thread's topic, do they still have to put the spoiler tags or not? Sorry if I am bugging you.

Hey Taj, I just posted in that thread. I told everyone not to post anything unrelated to End Game unless it's in tags. People enter a thread for a particular topic, and with something as dangerous as spoilers, a spoiler that's off-topic shouldn't be allowed unless within titled tags. I wouldn't want to see info about endings if I came in looking for end game info, for instance.

There's a typo in the forum's description:

"Post and and all story"

It'd be nice to see that get fixed.

I have a question. Have the spoiler threads been filtered so that they don't show up on the "Hot Topics" list on the homepage? Because I replied to someone in one of my spoiler threads and it didn't show up on the homepage afterwards. If you did, then that was an excellent idea.

A spoiler is a spoiler is a spoiler, no matter what. EVERYONE should be putting spoilers in tags and warnings in titles, let alone posting spoilers in the SPOILER SECTION.

Sadly, people don't comply with the rules because they either don't read them or they don't care because they want to be the 'hero' who posts some kind of news for everyone to see. As Pat said, just report it. We do our best to keep things the way they should be but with up to 16,000 people online at one time....you can imagine how hard it is, so, reporting anything you see helps a lot.
