Changes Abound on Official Mortal Kombat Website

The official Mortal Kombat website <a href="http://www.TheMortalKombat.com">TheMortalKombat.com</a> was updated yesterday and is now home to a new design along with a countdown timer. That new countdown timer will expire at <b>12am midnight central time</b> on <b><i>Mortal</i> Monday October 11th, 2010</b>.

It's unclear what the countdown will reveal. But we're guessing that it will be the official launch of a website similar to what our friends over at <a href="http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/News/read.cds?article=1271">Mortal Kombat Online discovered</a> was accidentally leaked earlier this weekend.

What do you think?
 
They're either releasing the HD Kollection or the MK9 Demo. Hope is the Kollection.

I don't think any game is being released that day. The HD Kollection is supposed to ship with the MK9 Demo anyways, both are to be released together on November 19th unless it gets delayed.
 
I'm hoping for the HD Kollection announcement. And if it's the launch of the website...come on...just launch it..a countdown is a little bit exaggerating.

Yeah, I realized that the demo and Kollection are slated for the same release date since the demo comes with the Kollection.

I think you're onto something though Eks.

Maybe they're going to OFFICIALLY reveal the release date of the HD Kollection, with the included MK 9 demo.
It's a possibility.
 
By my calculations, it will end on midnight Eastern U.S. time (not central), on 10/10/10 (first hour of 10/11/10). So it would be 11pm 10/10 central time, and 9pm western U.S. time.

5pm eastern right now + 7 hours= midnight. + 12days= 10/10 midnight eastern time.

Just some food for thought. When you click "Witness mayhem in the trailers" it takes you to the WB Games Mortal Kombat youtube channel. Maybe this is just coincidence, but the ONLY uploaded trailers for MK9 are the Shadows trailer and the HD trailer. The other 5 uploads are:

2. Fatality Friday - voted on at Twitter - MK3/UMK3 Sheeva skin rip fatality
3. Fatality Friday - voted on at Twitter - MK3/UMK3 Sektor compactor fatality

Possibly coincidence, but aside from the "mayhem" in the 2 minor MK9 trailers, the only real Mayhem we see is all from the Klassic Mortal Kombat games. Perhaps not so much of a coincidence?

Hmmm... They're probably hints of what characters and fatalities will be in the next MK. I hope the fatality vids that will get voted next are Mileena's, Kitana's, Jade's, Sonya's, and Sindel's.
 
I'm fine with 3, 4 and 5.

I never really liked Sheeva.
To me, her character was a bit lackluster. Just plain and ... meh.



On a side note:
#5 is already in MK 9.
It's Sub Zero's MK 1 Spine Rip / MK II Ice Shatter, as a combined Fatality.

Just further hints that they're gonna announce the release of the Kollection.

As if the hardcore fans don't already know about it.

Just give them time, there's no reason to have a hundred videos for the new game yet. With almost 6 months until we're even close to it coming out. Tease with the old stuff, and surprise us with the new stuff when we least expect it.
 
I think the site may be more comprehensive than that. I think they're going to launch the site for MK9 and talk about the characters, their bios, stages, ect.

I hope you're right.
I'd like more characters and arenas revealed, rather than all the Fatalities.
I love the Fatalities, but I would also want some of them NOT to be revealed, and just find them out when the game comes out.
