Button layout

Hi,

I was wondering if someone here knows what the button layout is going to be for the new mk game.
This summer I builded an arcade cabinet specially for the new mk :-D
Now I want to create some artwork to go on the cabinet, but I don't know for sure how many buttons the game will use, and how they are called. I know there's Right Punch, Left Punch, Right Kick, Left Kick and Block. But There should be a tag button and a button to perform the breaker/x-ray move too. But I'm not sure how they are done...

this is what my control panel looks like right now, the overlay is printed on normal A4 sheets and taped together, so it's nothing final yet ;)

I'm also looking for some high quality artwork to go on the side's too. It's the same size as the original mk1,2,3 and 4 dedicated cabs and I want the art to be full size so that's 175x90 cm or roughly 70x40 inches

Anyone that can be of any help, I'd really appreciate it! :-D

I wish I could I could help you out.

 That is an epic piece of glory. Hats off to you!

Thanks =D
It's a 32" 1080p lcd screen. I wanted to go for a 37" but it was way to big to play at such close distance...
It has a pc build in so I can play the classics trough mame and also a dreamcast for mk gold. Next will be a ps3 for mk trilogy and of course the brand new mk =D

Here's a pic of the full cab:

It still needs a monitor bezel and some kind of grill to go in front of the speakers because it's not nice when the speakers are visible...

Very, very nice craftsmanship. You should've gone with an ASUS monitor since they're typically as close as you can get for a CRT-like minimal input lag.

Since you already have the TV, make sure you turn off ALL post processing effects. Stuff like enhanced colour, motion and whatnot and turn on game mode.

hopefully not a 120hz, thats for movies. you want 60hz for games fyi

Agreed, though 120Hz and even 240Hz with TV's are... for the lack of a better word, assy post processing modes. Few of them accept true 120Hz signals like monitors.

Even for movies, they really don't work that well.

Great Job Man, Im also building one of these for MK9, just waiting on a confirmed button layout, I have a MK1 cabinet with a LCD inside it pretty much like yours, I made a bezel that turned out great using stuff from hobby lobby, got my PS3 installed inside, been playing MKII on it, anyway, keep up the great work, if I find out the button layout I'll be sure to let you know,

Supposedly the punches are on top by default (like with MK vs. DC), so unfortunately that's going to screw up your layout a bit. Still haven't seen which side is back and which is front, though.

One Button Fatality Mode - Triangle at the proper distance for the Fatality. It is likely enabled for the PAX build this weekend too.

R1 - Throw

R2 - Block

F+Block - Breaker

L1 - No function?

L2 - Change Stance. You basically change to a goofy foot stance, but doesn’t effect anything else. You can change back at forth at will. It would be cool if the move-set changed when changing stance…perhaps that will be an addition for more moves added…or perhaps not?

R1 and R2 together was X-ray

Triangle, Square, Circle, X - Attack buttons
Down +2 was Uppercut

Oh wow stance switching option? I diddnt see that coming...
I wonder if it'll serve any purpose other than dancing like the greatest when you're up by a round or two.

thanks, but nothing on a tag button? changing the punch and kick buttons is no problem, just have to switch them in photoshop before I have it printed out :)

If that stance button's only change stands, I doubt I will use that...

Perhaps L1 was tag team switch. I didnt play a tagteam match..so I dunno.

Also, please lets not forget...You can change your button layout in the menu setup

Hey,

somebody told me that:
@mkucast The other R is the Throw button(each character supposedly has 2) & L2 u hold down & press a special move to do super special move

So, i would change your "Tag" to the super special move. You can push it with your thumb and doing all the moves with the other fingers.. The Tage Switch would I put up to the Block, a bit higher not disturbing for a singleplayer match.

Throw: Maybe over the Special Move,on high with the Block(?) left to Front and Back Punch, pushing with your forefinger? X-Ray would be with your forefinger and your pinkie(Block)(the right word for the smallest finger?)

Sorry for my bad english, but hope i could help you out.

Actually the block button and the special move modifier are one in the same. There is not a separate button for each, which would probably make this job a whole lot easier. lol.
